My thoughts also. There are one or two variegated forms, and although
it's flowering out of season, it's been a funny old year for that sort
of thing.

Perhaps, but it says in the info below the pic 'Taken on December 8,
2014'. I take that at face value, as opposed to meaning 'Posted on
December 8', but I don't use Flickr so I may be wrong.

The info I get is Modified 8th december

Nope. It was taken today, by me I think it's been identified now. Escallonia
laevis 'Gold Ellen'

I still have escallonias flowering here.. haven't had a frost yet.
