chuckle It depends what it's one of. The OP had ??

"Only" is one of the words which is rarely used correctly. It should
come immediately before the word that it is qualifying.

Only accidentally as a part of a stock proof fence/hedge. There are
plenty in the hedgerows so no point in growing them at home.

Thanks for correcting my punctuation.
Glad you found it so amusing.
Is this a garden website or a preferred English site?

Anyone heard of tolerance and not being pedantic?

Worst of all my question has not really been answered.

"The only lonely" would be quite wrong. Roy Orbison got it right with
"only the lonely".

I think you probably understood what I meant, although you do have a
point! It comes (shall we say) before the word or phrase that it is
qualifying. If it comes just before, say, a verb, then it is the verb
that it is qualifying.
