This is not exactly a proper answer but there again it's not rocket science is it '~) It's probably better to get them established before winter takes hold - when in doubt keep in their pots in the GH or similar until next spring. Jenny I agree that it depends upon how robust and fast growing they are. Anything planted out now will need a lot of watering through the summer. Autumn is a good time to plant out if your soil isn't too heavy. You could name some of your plants and say roughly how big they are if you want a more exact response. Janet G |

Like the others I would say when they are big enough.
They need to be a well established plant in at least a 4 inch pot. Unless you are going to really nurture them carefully and make sure that they don't get lost amongst other stronger plants. I planted seeds of Hollyhocks, lupins, delphiniums earlier this year and the
ones that i planted out in April in a newly composted bed have done far better than anything left in pots I have an entire bed of beautiful Lupins and Delphniums in full flower " Jeanne Stockdale" wrote in message ...
