Mulching/multiclip mowers
Well, my Stiga 46S arrived on Friday, delivered to my doorstep and ready to
go all for £305. All I can say is I cannot believe how it does it! It took about 1hr1omins to mow my grass and you cannot see any clippings at all. All the arguments against it i.e grass clippings will be carried intothe house, it will create more 'thatch' to be scarified later, seem to be totally incorrect (okay the scond one I will see at the end of the season), but the grass clipping problem i.e getting covered in them and carrying them into the house afterwards is totally incorrect. After my 1st mow there was not a single blade of grass on my boots or trousers - maybe I was luckiy in as much as it has been very dry until today when we had a thunderstorm to round the weekend off. Now the clippings being very fine wil rot away in 48hrs (according to the bumf with the mower) and this feeds the lawn back its on nitrogen and will help kill of the moss! Again time will tell. I will post more as I get more usage. fj |
