Just so those who have posted their postcodes above know, I'm not

collecting
postcodes for monitoring purposes, but the RHS is. If you want to report
your beetles, email me offlist and I'll pass on the reporting details.

Thank you for doing so; after reporting mine I received a polite reply
and a PDF leaflet about Lily Beetle.

Made for interesting reading! I also found out that ours were only the
second reported case in Harpenden.

Mine was also the second in our area, but I first saw them three years
ago, which is earlier than the first report. Competitiveness shows up

in
the strangest places :-)

Apparently they are also found on fritilaria meleagris as well, and are
very easy to spot and remove from there. Might be useful as a help to
control them.
