Default Lawnmower Men?

Yes, they do exist - but not really suited to medium or large lawns
since their capacity is very small compared to a mains or petrol one.

What might appeal is an automatic cutter. Still in their infancy but
watched with interest by many gardeners, these things can slowly crawl
around your lawn, cutting and mulching. The smarter ones will even
return to their charging station when they get low on power and plug
themselves in.

Cost a bit, though.
