Am I right in thinking that what you call trading is what we call swapping
or bartering?

Hi,

I'd be interested in setting up some trades with someone in another country (I'm in the UK). Canada would be good as you have fairly similar weather, so I presume most plants which I can grow you can too? What plants I'm interested in receiving isn't much of an issue, I like just about anything and my garden theme is: anything I like gets planted anywhere I like. However, I really can't find room for another tree (I have three 80+ year old mature trees and many large shrubs).

The nicer plants I can take cuttings from this year a

An unidentified flowering cherry tree that is about 80 years old. It has a vast ammount of pink-white flowers that fall off like confetti and a twisted woody trunk. It doesn't grow huge, but has a wide spread and loves the direct sun in my front garden.

Ivy, both plain dark green and varigated light and dark types. Both are well established old vines on my house and I have successfully taken cuttings from both before.

Two types of Buddleia bush. Both have long bunches of mauve flowers, but one of them (the more attractive one) grows them up to 2 foot long. The smell is pleasant and when it's flowering you'll find dozens of butterflys around this bush.

A crab apple tree that's growing very well right now with plenty of new growth this year, which should make ideal cuttings.

A jasmine vine that is growing well thanks to the extended summer and has plenty of new growth for cuttings.

I have more plants, but I'm less familar with them and don't know how successfull cuttings would be. I should experiment with or research those before offering them.
