Default Buddleia

Last weekend I went to the Halfords/Homebase retail therapy location
at Shannon Corner (A3 near New Malden) nothing much of note in either
store.

However the car park contained a type of Buddleia I have never seen
before. A cursory glance at some reference books indicates that this
may be a bit of a rarity or is some newly manufactured hybrid thingy?

The plant was as you would expect of a unkempt Buddleia, lots of
sticks and new growth, with signs that it had been hacked back
sometime earlier this year. Now to the interesting part - the flowers
were primrose yellow. This Buddleia carries the connical shaped
flower heads and not the ball/pom-pom type.

Anyway I have never seen a Buddleia bloom in anything but orange or a
shade or purple. Thought this may be of slightly more interest to
some than an argument about Cannabis.

Did you take a cuting ??? ;-)

Yellow is new to me - you can get white flowering ones from mail order
places in Austria and Germany.

If the human brain were simple enough that we could understand it, we would
be so simple that we couldn't.

Whatever turns you on ....

Nick

What is that supposed to mean ? Your remark comes across as an
attempt to be-little my question. I do not know if you meant it that
way, or if I am reading at all wrong. Maybe your intention was to
make a joke on the greater satisfaction to be achieved from growing
Cannabis than growing Buddleia.

Which ever it was I did not get it.

It is a piece of 1960s idiom. Yes, it was a joke. Don't worry
about it. The serious part of my response was earlier in the post
(and which you snipped).

White Buddleias are quite common.

Thought this may be of slightly more interest to
some than an argument about Cannabis.
