When our local authority (liverpool) supplied me with free wheelie bins it
left me with 5 plastic dustbins. I turned them into compost bins by using a
drill to make a flap at the bottom and drilling largish holes in the sides
for ventilatation. I have some lovely compost from them and am just using it
for the first time.

In the Wakefield area the price was £5.00 or £8.00 delivered which I thought
was excellent value for money.

make your own from pallets pulled apart and put back together as a solid
sided bin with lift off slats to half of front
with a lid
Hold much more and works better IMHE

I just made one by just nailing 4 pallets together (no pulling them
apart and no lid) and it is HUGE.
One note though - build it where you want it - once built it is a little
heavy to move.
