Hi everybody-
I'm moving from the middle of the corn belt and leaving my beloved garden
for the 6000 ft alt. rocky side of a mountain near Lake Tahoe. Shall I
start crying now, or can anyone give me any tips on gardening here. What
I've found so far indicates that I might as well forget my English cottage
garden and my heirloom tomatoes...

Peg, who will soon be cultivating a tumbleweed

Hi Peggy,

A quick goggle threw up the following:

http://www.tahoecountry.com/homegarden/homegarden.html

http://www.ltcc.cc.ca.us/about_ltcc/demo_garden/

Tahoe newsletter (gardening!) http://renotahoe.about.com/blspringgarden.htm

Interesting books on the area : http://www.bookshelfstores.com/bn_local.htm

Yes. I am being a lot more effective now than I was a month ago.
Aren't I a SAD person? :-)

The message
from Sacha contains these words:

I think a bit of sunshine gives everyone a 'lift'.

As in: "Hello, hello, hello! What's that you're smoking there, Sunshine?
