Default Help identify red leafed plant?

http://members.aol.com/dcjtee/redplant.jpg

Can anyone identify this red leafed plant for me?
It's non hardy and cuttings from it root extremely
easily. The medium sized leaves colours range from
very dark red to brilliant red.

I've had it for several years and never seen it
flower but the leaves are pretty as anything.

It is extremely fussy what food it has and most
foods kill the cuttings. I just give it some
VERY weak MG.

TIA - Dave

Just having a puff so not sure if you are serious or not. I'd love a green
version as well.

Iresine herbstii rubra
Also similar is Iresine lindenii rubra which has longer pointed leaves, both
of these also have green/cream variegated forms as well as red.

Interesting that it's an irisine. I've read about them being used in
Victorian carpet bedding but never know what the look like.

Yes it is indeed. I am grateful to those who told me this. I've had the plant
for several years and always wondered its name. It rarely flowers (I've never
seen it do so) but the leaves more than make up for this with their brilliant
colours). They come in green as well as red and also red and green bits
together on same plant!

BTW. It is listed as a medicinal herb for depression and prostate protection
but I
can't find out dosage for either.

Be thankful.....it's not advisable to try to make up your own medicine from
plants, it takes years of training to know what you are doing.
