Default Better to shoot cats...

Just a thought. Rather than poison, It would be much better to get a .22 air
rifle and shoot the damn things. That way when they go back to their owners
they drip blood all over the carpet and also the owner gets a vets bill.

OR,

they could be skinned and eaten. At least you would know that it would be
safer. :-))

bowstrings.

An old English long-bow is a much better idea.
1) You'd probably miss, but get close enough to frighten it away for ever.

2) If you did hit it, it's nicely scewered and easy to lift up and put into
the bin.

Why should you miss? It's extremely difficult to get rabbits with an arrow
from a longbow, because they're alerted by the hiss of the arrow as you
loose it, but cats aren't as sensitive - they're not normally prey so don't
have the same reactions.

Yes indeed:

Small boys go fishing with nylon line.
Stitches are either nylon or a digestible man-made fibre.
Bowmen of England used waxed hempen cord.
See if you can find a pair of catskin gloves....
Rabbit pie is, as named, filled with rabbit and topped with pastry.
However, it could be a good way of disposing of the evidence of your
misdeeds...
Air Force pilots kept their own eyes as far as it was possible, and
cats' eyes were relegated to guiding benighted motorists.
You've forgotten the 'catgut' of old violin strings, which were made
from sheepgut.

Catseyes were invented by Percy Shaw. He was a clever man who invented them
after he was walking home one night and his torch light was reflected by a
cat's eyes.

If the cat had been facing the other way he would probably invented the
pencil sharpener.
