Hi everyone,

I was after a bit of advice about what to do with my Acer Bloodgood that has
been quite badly frazzled by the wet, cool and windy weather we had about a
month ago.

The tree had always been in a pot and was about 5 foot tall and a really
nice looking specimen.

We moved last year and I planted it in the ground (quite heavy clay, but
reasonably well drained as it is on a slope) in as sheltered spot as I could
find.

The tree started budding about a month ago and then we had about 5 days of
really awful winter and I am afraid that it has taken its toll on the tree.
About half of the buds came out and of those half of them have been frazzled
and the other half have been severely stunted. The other half on the tree
haven't done anything.

I guess my question is what should I do with it to try and nurse it back
into health? I know that it is going to sulk this summer, but I would like
to try and make sure that it does as well as it can and builds up its
reserves for next year.

The funny thing is that I have 4 other Acers in the garden and they have
been fine (a Senkaki, 2 palmatum dissectums and a Japonicum Vitifolium).
