Default Slugs to be protected

A founder member of the local Slugwatch Committee stopped me in the street
this morning to ask me what I thought about the damned Government
legislating to protect Slugs, and to render illegal his tireless (but
futile) attempts to 'nuke' the critters into submission.

Surely, he must have been joking?

Has anybody here eaten slugs? I've never ventured myself, but I'm fond
of the occasional plate of escargots with lots of garlic butter, so
why not?

Mike.
