Our soil is acid and this is what makes them so blue.
We have all shades of blue going to almost a navy.

Hello Iris, my soil is not acidic so what can I do to make them turn a
brilliant blue? I do feed with Miracid but it doesn't make them turn
colour.

I don't drink tea, would coffee grounds work?

Not sure about coffee judith might accelarate thier growth somewhat
nervously.
However I did hear that coffee can in small doses is very good in the
battle against slugs.

Thank you Tim but I don't have too much a problem with slugs I have an
enormous amount of frogs and toads in the garden, which I adore so they
may keep the pests down.

How do you achieve this?

I don't do anything - they are just here and they have millions of little
babies later on which my grandson adores picking up. It's quite a job to
cut the grass as we have to go ahead of the ride on mower and stamping
our feet to get them to move so that we don't run over them!
