One of my camellias is just coming into flower.
It regularly produces a profusion of beautiful pink flowers.
However, I have just noticed that it has now produced, in addition to
the usual pink flowers, a single perfectly white flower.
Can anyone suggest the reason for this ?

Just a 'sport'. Camellias do it from time to time. New varieties can
be developed this way, although hybridising is more productive.

Same reason a white variety would start producing all blush pinky-white
flowers the second year of ownership, or is there another reason for
that? It's in a pot (with ericaceous).

Doesn't sound like a 'sport'. Some camellias produce slightly
different colours under glass compared to in the open. Perhaps this
explains your effect. Did you have it in a greenhouse or conservatory
last year? If not, I can't help!
