Default Bay tree

Any advice please on how and when to propagate a bay tree . I have a few tip
cuttings in coarse gritty compost which I put out Autumn time . They are
still looking alive , but no sign of new growth . Is it likely there will be
, or did I do it all wrong . Any pointers or advice gratefully received

Leave them, and see if they wake up. I am no good with cuttings,
but that is right.

If you know someone with an established one, they propagate readily
from suckers.

It maybe too early to tell yet. Some cuttings of plants can take a lot
longer than 6-8 months.
Best bet is to wait until you can see the roots growing through the bottom
of the pots you rooted them in ... maybe up to if not more than a year!

Hi Nick - I already have an established tree (well. more a bush really )
that I've had for a few years and which is in a large tub . This grows
nicely , but has never put out any suckers , so no joy there . I only need
to increase my stock of plants to give to friends , which is why I asked .
I'll just leave the ones I have here ,and see what transpires . Thanks for
the replies

In my experience, bay cuttings root well if given bottom heat -- quite
warm conditions, in fact.
