Perennial Planting
Is it still too early to be planting perennials? If so, when's the best
time? Thanks. |

Perennial Planting
I live in the South East, Jack and the shops are absolutely full of stuff to
plant now. If you live in the North, it may be too early. If you don't, then go for it. |

The time to plant varies according to the species and a good guide is to plant out at the earliest time that you would split clumps/propagate because this is the time when roots are growing. Hence autumn and to a lesser degree summer are the best times for some species. Another and very local indicator is plant when you see the same species starting into growth in your garden or area.
