TIA Does the motor still turn over, I would have thought without OIL the thing would have seized up solid. If the motor does still turn over, remove the spark plug, and add a small amount of motor oil, then turn the cutter blades, with the spark plug still out, until the motor turns over freely, then add a bit of petrol through the spark plug hole, replace the cooked spark plug with a new one, [champion CJ 8, or simmer] say a prayer, and see if the thing fires up. If however the thing is solid, and will not turn,, Mount the thing in concrete in the back garden as a monument to your partners stupidity bassett |

Humans get over nasty at times. Education was achieved correct? She now knows. Why was she cutting the lawn in the first place, as well as having to get the fuel. Thats secret mens business. The stupidity could also be said to apply to whom so ever buys a two stroke. Polluting things they are. Two strokes should be banned. Theyre cheaper but will cost you like a finance plan. All work shops love them as this kind of thing happnes all the time. Theyre unreliable and need special kind of upkeep. Your wallet is always open for them. Seizure is unlikely, but possible, with a loss of compression. Try the right mixture add a dash of castor oil if you have it. (Model airplane fuel is said to do wonders.) That will seal the engine long enough to assess any damage. It may even polish the bore enough to run using normal fuel. |

Humans get over nasty at times. Education was achieved correct? She now knows. Why was she cutting the lawn in the first place, as well as having to get the fuel. ****She, She, She's the cats mother, no one said it was a woman using the mower in the first place. ***** In that case you better get busy, and start producing 4 stroke brushcutters, chain saws, generators, motor bikes, No perhaps not there already out there in 4 stroke, just continue all the 2 stroke motor bike makes.. In your case STUPID is an understatement. Seizure is unlikely, but possible, with a loss of compression. Try the right mixture add a dash of castor oil if you have it. (Model airplane fuel is said to do wonders.) That will seal the engine long enough to assess any damage. It may even polish the bore enough to run using normal fuel. *****The greatest failure of any two stroke motor is seizure, and the reason is lack of lubrication. Sometimes with catastrophic results. Consider a 125cc racing bike, locking up solid doing a couple of hundrud K's . But wait that won't happen again, you've banned all two strokes. lucky us. bassett |

As far as stupid goes, your numlock is stuck, and youre also the one with the two stroke. That makes you very clever? Its like pushing the proverbial uphill if you start wanting attention by acting irrational. Two strokes can seize, or simply loose compression due to rings overheating and loosing tenson, also the bore can get awfully scored, and in my experience, if the mowers a quality mower the bore "may" survive. But as most arent good quality you may not be that lucky. Buy a for stroke next time. They are a lot less trouble and can live for many years longer than two strokes. I'd pull it a apart and see what damage has been done. But you probably dont have the tools. A good library could help you. |

Thanks for your help |

Thanks for your help It's quite possable the spark plug has enamelled up, due to excessive heat. which will cause it to fail, it's worth a go with a new plug, also try some "lighter Fual" which is very hi-octain based pertol, and if anything will fire the thing up, that will. bassett PS I had no doubt it was a bloke, that stuffed up, Just don't let him ever forget it, if you forget, his mother-in-law won't. poor ******* |
