Gardenia
Is it possible to move a mature Gardenia radicans? It's flowering at the
moment, but I'd like to move it to a different location. Any ideas/help would be much appreciated. -- Trish Brown {|:-} Newcastle, NSW, Australia |

Hit it with Seasol both before and after the move, try and get as many roots as possible then give it a prune by a third. |

One thing you could do now is get a sharp spade and cut/dig a circle roughly the diameter of the 'drip line' of the Gardenia, basically cutting the roots on preparation for transplanting, which should hopefully help minimise transplant shock. Then do the deed in winter... I've moved quite a few large-ish trees and shrubs that way and haven't lost one as yet (touch wood). |
