Default jelly stead of soil

Hi all,

Anyone tried "soluable grow jelly" in place of soil, perhaps in a vase, etc?

Thoughts would be appreciated and ideas as to what plants to try.

hmmm I've seen small bamboo-type plants growing in that jelly (not very
helpful, but I don't know their proper name). Also 'happy plants', orchids
and other bulbs. You could probably grow most types of ficus in gel too. For
other ideas, perhaps it's worthwhile investigating which plants can be grown
hydroponically?
