[IBC] Air Layering a Jacqueline Hillier Elm
Well, I just finished air layering a Jacqueline Hillier Elm that I recently
purchased. It's a 5 gallon tree and only cost $30. Trunk caliper is about 2 inches at ground level. Since it has 3 very large main branches that are way too bushy and spread out - I figured I'd try to get 3 extra trees out of it while still preserving the trunk for future work. Now that I've done it - I'd like some reassurance that even if the air layers don't take, the main part of the tree will still be ok! I realize it's a little late to worry about it after the fact - but I will anyway unless someone eases my fear.
