For you potters out there . . .

There are a number of exquisite pots pictured in BT #85. I'd
sell my third child (if I had one) for any one of them . .. BUT .
.. .

I find Mr. Ono's pot (page 14 bottom) to be *most* intriguing. I
like the simple lines, and I could see a pair of formal upright
mame/shohin Japanese white pines in those two containers.

I can imagine a three-container pot, too. Ah, the
possibilities.

If any of you potters out there think you could have a feeling
for something like that, lemme know.

Now . . . in that same issue, the tree used to demonstrate the
construction of jin and shari (the last article) HAS to be the
most unattractive juniper I have seen in a good many years.

All in all, however, this issue of BT brings it back closer to
the magazine it used to be. Nice gallery, too.

I can't really agree with that. But, after all....I liked the tree by
Noelanders a couple issues ago and no one else seemed to.!

I always study the pots. The one on 7 caught my eye immediately.
I like it a lot but am a bit wishy-washy over the one on 10. It
looks like all the water would run out of it. ;-)

IF I ever get the time, I'll be posting a couple of trees in
Cochoy pots in the gallery sometime this week (or next). I
thought I was supposed to have all this LEISURE time once I
retired.

I am very pleased with all the recent BT pages given to bonsai pots; issue 84
had 'new trends in bonsai pots'.

The twin pot, Mr. Ono's, is very nice and interesting and I could see doing
something like this down the road.
The Takagi pot competition had one with 7 round pots connected -

Dale,
Those caught my eye, they are very interesting. Unlike Jim, I would not worry
about the water running out of bottom of pg 10; an open medium for planting
will address the concern.

As you probably do, I pay close attention to all the pots and planting
combinations.
