[IBC] Fixing bonsai pot problems
I have a few pots that my brother made for me. It was his first attempt and he didn't know that water retention could be a problem. The pots look nice on the outside and they have a drainage hole inside. The problem is that the drainage hole is higher t
han some parts of the floor of the pot. These pots retain a fair amount of water. Is there anything I can do to correct this problem? I am afraid if I attempt to drill holes the pots will crack. I don't want to disappoint my brother by not using the pots. But I don't want any of my trees to die from root rot either! Thanks for the help, Sean Nemecek - Cadillac, MI - Zone 4b or 5a ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by Mike Page ++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions? Off the top of my head, plasticine placed at the bottom of the pot and
spread evenly should work, no? Nic "You must deal with me as I think of myself" J. In a similar situation, I used silicone caulking material to fill in the low spots. ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by Mike Page ++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions? If someone in your family cans vegetables or fruits, paraffin wax works, too, but everyone has candle stubs.
