Default [IBC] Sharpening tools

Dear IBCers.

After a couple years of using dull tools, (esppecially concave and knob
cutters) and not being able to find a person locally who could sharpen
my tools, I finally found one, but not locally here in New Jersey....

If anyone is interested in shipping their tools for sharpening, please
Email me privately, and I will give you the information... I felt the
prices were excellent.

Best regards for sharper tools,

Carl L. Rosner

Hi, Carl.

Bill Valavanis had someone doing sharpening and repair at his recent
symposium.

Presumably he could be reached through Bill.

My tools have the need for sharpening but there must be a better way (for me
at least) than shipping them off. I thought we talked about this a couple
years ago, but I didn't save those posts :-( . Don't most of us sharpen our
tools ourselves? And with what he asks? My whet stone just doesn't -cut-
it.

Shelly and other members:
I am just not adept enough to sharpen the concave cutters let alone the
knob cutters. That's where I draw the line on being a do it yourselfer.
Specialty tools should be sharpened by experts.... in my humble opinion.

I took my tools to a local sharpener, and he said that he couldn't
guarantee the work.... The gentleman to whom I sent my tools, is not
related to me, and I certainly do not have any affiliation with him, but
for those who are interested here is his Email address:

Thanks Brent. I admit I feel a bit foolish, I should have gone to your site
without being told, after all, I bought my concave cutters from you! And I
love them!

And Carl, you're right too, there is definitely something to be said for
letting a pro do it right.

The BCI website has an article on it about sharpening tools.
