[IBC] Japanese Quince attack by yellow mites
Hi all,
I am having problems with yellow mites on my Quince. I have tried to hand remove them because I dont want to use any intesecticide if I dont have too. I think the mites are undercontrol but I dont want any on my Quince. All the new leaves that are coming out wilt very fast and there is no leave on the tree at all. There are new buds coming out and I want to keep the leaves. So what should I do to stop the mites from destroying my tree? Thanks All, Luc Tran Zone: 8b Texas __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Anyway, a hard spray of water -- and I mean HARD -- on the foliage _should_ take care of them. [IBC] Japanese Quince attack by yellow mites
LUC, are you CRAZY????? You can't hand-remove mites; you'll lose your mind. Mites don't like water. Rinse your plants under a HARD stream of water (you might want to put a bag around the pot, then tie the bag with a twist-tie around the trunk, so you pr
otect the soil). The water will dislodge most of the mites, and make the remainder unhappy. Repeat this every week. Why is your quince indoors? Mites aren't a problem (in general) on outdoor bonsai, and quince are outdoor bonsai. Your quince needs a dormant period in winter. -----Original Message----- Date: Mon Feb 23 09:48:11 EST 2004 From: "luc tran" Subject: [IBC] Japanese Quince attack by yellow mites To: Hi all, I am having problems with yellow mites on my Quince.
