Default [IBC] 5th World Bonsai Convention

I'm planning to be there as well - and I, also, will be staying with relatives in the Reston area. Probably will also add on a couple of days to take the kids to some of the other landmarks in DC.

Do any of you have plans on attending the 5th World Bonsai Convention
in Washington DC this coming May? I'm going for sure, already made
reservations at the Hilton. I live about 2.5 hours away from the site
and might not have another chance like this for a long time.

Anita and I will be there with bells on. We're going to be staying with my brother
and sister-in-law in Reston VA. Go, by all means. It sounds like a great event.

That is a great idea. There are very few folks I would recognize - I've only met a couple in person, the rest would be based on pictures. It would be GREAT to be able to meet as many of the IBCers as possible and finally put some faces to the names!

your thoughtfulness is appreciated.

Thoughtfulness, h***! I'm trying to find someone to share the driving. I know I
can do it alone (7 hours from Syracuse), but at my age I would prefer not to. I
told the doctor he has to have me in shape for it. At least nowadays we have
cell phones.

Thinking of the convention, does anyone have any ideas about how IBC members might
identify themselves to one another? I understand that back in the mid-90's there
was another convention, I think in DC also, where IBC members wore a button. Come
to think of it, I think Anita has one. Can we do that again? I would recognize a
few people from their pictures on the gallery. And, is there any way to have a
get-together?
