Default Pumpkin leaf wilt

I have a small pumpkin plant. The leaves wilt in the sun and then perk back
up after the shade get to them. Am I doing anything wrong? (too much
water?) I'm in Albuquerque NM if that makes any difference.

My plants did the same thing. What I did is plant my sweet corn around
the pumpkins to give shade. Its too late now, but maybe next year.
