Default Needle Valve

Well yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. Causes explosions if left too long.
For those of you who are looking for needle valves and seeing prices of $20
your being ripped off. I get needle valves for $6CA apeice, rated for 50 PSI
at a local industrial parts supplier. Do some shopping!

www.clippard.com has them for 10.91, I've used close to one hundred
and have been pleased with these.

Do not use ARO valves or anything with plastic associated with it. Pay
the 2-5$ more.
But I would not use a valve on a DIY CO2 set up, it simply is not
needed.

A better control point for controlling DIY gas is within the reactor
itself, not the source or a pressurized gas chamber/tank.

A pre set level within a reactor chamber /tube automatically dumps and
waste any excess CO2.

Generally, all DIY CO2 systems/bottles etc should be run to excess of
the tank's needs. Most folks do the opposite and get algae.
A reactor that add enough CO2 for the tank then waste it after it gets
to a good CO2 is ideal.

You can also use a pH controller or set it up for semi atuomated
control(Turning the CO2 off at night) with out doing
anything/affecting to the yeast brew.

Placing the yeast brew on the lighting ballast is also a good method
to increase production of CO2 when you need it most.

If you can find a cheap solenoid, I can show a backwards way of using
it to repressurize and depressurize the DIY system in a semi atuomatic
way also. But solenoids tend to run about 35-40$ for the cheaper ones.

Tom Barr
