Where to buy plants online?
I should add my plug for Phyl and trueaquariumplants.com as well. I am
plant newbie and she has been extremely patient and helpful in answering my many questions. -hh "John Worfin" wrote in message . net... I have also had a wonderful experience with Phyl. If you don't see enough detail about plant care for a particular species of plant, don't hesitate to ask the owner, Phyl, for help. She is very charming and friendly, and has provided me with the most excellent customer service I have yet to experience. She knows her plants and will help you get them to thrive. I'm chiming in as everybody else, but Phyl at trueaquariumplants.com is
wonderful. I requested an assortment for my 30+G tank, and she bascially did the 20-30G tropical assortment as a base, but substituted most of the bight-light requirement plants for more lower to moderate light requirement plants, and also tried to tailor the plants that will have a better chance of surviving using UGF (I can hear a collective groan whenever I mention this to the plant crowd... hopefully it will work out... if not, I know what to do next time I need to overhaul a tank...). the price was little over the normal $35 due to the substitutions, but, boy, I definitely got a bang for the money... i really couldn't fit in all the plants I got in my tank!!! I would never have been able to collect such a gorgeous group of plants that she chose for me at a local store, as I would be too afraid to try them. I'm very happy customer! Linda "E. I bought my plant order from Phyl at trueaquariumplants.com during a summer heatwave, and she enclosed cold packs to keep the plants safe from overheating. I would imagine she would use heat packs during very cold seasons in the winter; she was very conscientious about asking what the weather was like in L.A. to make sure she could optimally package the plants. Where to buy plants online?
Look at Arizona Aquatic Gardens, too - www.azgardens.com.com . They have
very nice stock and are a great source for some more unusual plants that you probably won't find elsewhere. I've bought from them several times and can vouch for their good intentions and helpfulness if not their actual competence in filling and shipping orders. Still, all's well that ends well... kush "You can't have everything - where would you put it?" Some Guy wrote in message ... Does anyone have any suggestions for buying plants online. I am looking for a site that explains the different types of plants and their care requirements. Also, what are some good floating plants to put in a tank? Thanks, Aaron |

Where to buy plants online?
Well, I just bought some plants from FishVet.com and I can't really say I'm
impressed.... I got the package open and was met by the stench of decay. I opened up the bag with my glossostigma (sp?) and it was all MUSH. Never again.... Blake "Jim" wrote in message om... I just recently purchased a few dozen plants from a guy named Marco at www.aquatic-store.com and had great success! I ordered a few dozen plants over net paying with PayPal. You can order any amount, but since I live in Anchorage, Alaska and had read good things about this site I took a chance and was rewarded greatly. He even through in extra plants (over a dozen) for free. The best part is he doesn't gouge you on shipping and they are from very nice personal aquariums versus large farmed variety at a nursery. Definitely worth looking at his site! I'm very excited to have such unique plants too, my LFS doesn't carry much in the way of unique, or high quality. Good luck! I am looking for a site that explains the different types of plants and their care requirements. I recently bought some from PetSolutions.com. The plants were beautiful specimens when they arrived. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering in the dead of winter. Despite the fact that the box had "Live plants, do not expose to extreme temperature" type warnings all over it, there was ice all over the plants. A crypt and an anubias were a total loss, though it was two days before the leaves all fell off. Two bunches of dwarf sag were damaged, but appear to be recovering. And an anubias nana survived the ordeal just fine. So, I think PetSolutions is a good source, but that you shouldn't order from them during a season when the shipper can easily kill your plants by leaving them on an unheated dock overnight. |

I suggest www.trueaquariumplants.com. If you do not see enough of the details of a particular plant species, plant care, do not hesitate to ask the owner, Mayfair, for help. She was charming, friendly, and provided me with the best customer service, I have no experience.
