Taro
I bought three taro roots about the size of pullet eggs at the Chinese
grocery last week. I picked roots that were starting to sprout. How big do the plants get? And do I need to put them someplace swampy for them to thrive? I figure they will look like "elephant ear" caladiums. -Bob |

Up to about 1m high, they will multiply and spread as wide as you let them in good conditions. And do I need to put them someplace swampy for them to thrive? You must keep them damp, especially when it is hot and/or dry, they won't take drying out too well. Oh and they are frost tender. Yes they do look like elephant ears. David |
