Default To hoe or not to hoe...is this a weed or a flower?

I have this bushy plant in a flower garden around my birdhouse pole that I
can't identify. Can anyone take a look at the 2 pics and tell me if it is a
flower, or a weed? I'm trying to decide whether to hoe it down or not. It
has what looks like stamens on the ends, but there are no petals at all.
Thanks for your help

More important might be if you like the plant or not. I have a
gorgeous weed in a flower pot in the back yard.

Yes, it’s only a weed if you decide that it is. My lawn had a couple patches
of what looks like a miniature daisy (flowers smaller than a dime and liking
partial shade. I began mowing around the patches and this year not only are the
patches bigger, they have popped up everywhere. With any luck, in the next few
years my lawn will be replaced by a meadow. So, if I wanted a lawn, these
“daisys” would be weeds but since I prefer a meadow, they are wild
flowers.“
Any guesses as to what the "flowers” might be? Center is yellow like a daisy,
petals white to lilac in color, multiple flowers on stems about 15” high.

Remember a weed is
"any plant growing where you don't want it".

Looks like a weed to me, The 'flower' looks something like plantain
(weed) but the leaves don't. My first year here I was being surprised
by existing plants and flowers, and trimmed very carefully around
something that had cultivated-looking foliage. It put up "bloom
spikes", but never bloomed. I finally got a wildflower book and
discovered I'd been protecting...ragweed!
