Default Bindweed

Why is Bindweed so widely despised? I have some growing in my garden
right now and thought it a lovely flower, so I left it. Was that a
big mistake?

IMO yes, pull it up as best you can, this stuff travels underground and wont
stop.... it may be pretty but it's nasty stuff IMO.

One year my sister in law said, look there is natural morning glory. I just
turned to my husband and we both knew. I tried to tell her, but now her
entire garden has been strangled with it.

I let it grow one year, I am still pulling 3 years later :::knock on wood::::
less and less as we go but it is still there.
