I support hobo camps in the national forests. That way when the Bush
leaguers arrive with chainsaws, all those damned homeless will be squashed
by giant old-growth timber, & good riddance. For Jesus said, "He that
choppeth down the trees & squasheth the poor & executeth the mentally
retarded in Texas prisons & telleth lies to the sinful masses shall

His adult religious understanding is entirely filtered through his
semi-illiteracy & alcoholism. I doubt his knowledge of scripture has
matured since he drew outside the lines of his favorite version, The
Children's Bible Coloring Book.

Still, he claims that he reads a little bit of Oswald Chambers every
morning (if he lives long enough, maybe he'll finish it someday) because
"If you can figure out everything he's saying, then you have a depth of
understanding of the gospel."

A sales-pitch review of Bush's favorite book can be found he
http://prayerfoundation.org/books/bo...is_highest.htm

Chambers' Scottish Baptist sermons constitute the sort of writings one
finds in the cast-off bin of religious bookstores. Still, if Bush actually
has any capacity to learn from what he reads, he should have learned
something from Chambers' assertion: "One of the biggest traps we fall into
is the belief that if we have faith, God will surely lead us to success in
the world." That pretty much states that the whole of Bush's philosophy is
wrong, because he definitely does believe he's led by God therefore can do
no wrong. Bush regards himself more of an infallible Pope than a
President, & Chambers would be horrified.

Bush also believes the ends justifies the means, & so convinces himself
that lying to the American public about Weapons & Mass Production & all
sorts of other things is godly & good, because the outcome (in his
ridiculous estimation) is a good one. If the "outcome" stops at finding a
dictator filthy & alone ina spider-hole, then sure, the only thing equally
great would be if Bush ends up pretty much in the same pickle someday. But
Chambers taught: "War is the most damnably bad thing. [Even if] God
overrules a thing & brings good out of it does not mean that the thing
itself is a good thing." He said this having served as a chaplain in the
British Commonwealth Forces in the mid east, the turmoils of which were
the same in his lifetime as in ours.

Chambers lived a humble life & would be totally unknown today if his
sermons hadn't been posthumously published more than a decade after his
death in 1917. His sermons embodied a belief in the Fall from Grace that
has led to tragedy in peoples' lives, distortion of truth, frustration of
dreams, & waste of human life -- these being the hallmarks of the world
humanity was left with after the Fall. Certainly George W. Bush as a
distorter of truth, destroyer of dreams, & layer of waste bringing tragedy
into peoples' lives, fits well into Chambers' view of what happens because
of that Great Fal. So I can only imagine that Bush reads Chambers with a
Satanic glee of having His Dark Majesty's successes acknowledged.

On the other hand, Chambers does also eschew Reason in favor of seeking
redemption in Belief. So maybe Bush feels any damned thing he makes up to
justify further enriching the top 2% of the American population on the
broken backs of the rest of us is well & good, so long as he continues to
believes in himself, & doesn't let reason or compassion interfer. And
Chambers further teaches that Fear is good & is proof of God's grace still
in the world -- so the more danger & fear Bush drums up in the whole
world, the more godly he can mistake himself for being.

Unfortunately the Retardicans love their Texas Shrub, and so far he has
proven to have a green thumb. At the moment the RNC has raised $218,000,000
and counting to plant him back in the White House, and money's the
fertilizer that buys elections.

Fortunately there are enough people in this country who buy the ABB idea,
and Kerry is almost keeping up with Bush in fund raising. True believers
among the Democrats despise GWB almost as much as the Republicans despised
WJC and are putting their money where their mouths are.

It should be an interesting election with unending commercials.

What are you griping about?

We are still suffering from the damage done by Reagan and his deregulation.

If there wasn't the government cut backs in air traffic control, the FBI and
CIA, 9-11 might never have happened!!!

How many people need to die in plan crashes, train crashes and automobile
accidents before the government steps in and improves safety standards?

Under Dubaya, things will only get worse.

Just ask yourself one thing: Is this what you expected to happen in the new
millennium or were you hoping for something much better?

I don't happen to believe that bible crap but Bush appears to and that is
the reason that he is raping the enviorment and getting us into trouble
around the world.

He actually thinks that some bible "God" gave Earth to man to do with it as
they wish, use everything and leave nothing for the wildlife to live on.

He also thinks that he is doing bible "God's" work by attacking other
countries.

I personally think that he is a good person but delusional.

The bible is fiction, a myth, baloney, made up by sheephearders 2000 years
ago, get over it and get a life!

http://biblebabble.curbjaw.com/godl01.htm

"Contrary to popular assumption the Bible did not descend from heaven
carried by flocks of angels, nor was it dictated to mortal scribes by a god;
it was written and embellished by some 40 authors - prophets, kings,
politicians and clergymen in a variety of styles over a 1600 year period. It
was written in Hebrew, Greek (vernacular), Aramaic, Syriac, Coptic and
Latin. On stone, wood, clay, goatskin and papyrus. However the foundations
of Christianity and Bible we know today were laid by religious bureaucrats
of the 4th century AD, when the first Roman Emperor to convert to

Ralph Nader robbed me once.

It was back in the days of the Larry King radio show. Up till then Nader
was one of my minor heros because he was a good-looking even though kind
of creepy guy who never lets anyone inside his filthy apartment & only
owned one pair of shoes & a bunch of cheap look-alike rumpled suits. I'm
not making that up. He seemed so crazy I just had this fond feeling about
him. Gotta give some credit to a guy who manifests so many nutty traits
yet gets that far in life.

Plus of course there were those progressive politics which I found
generally agreeable, & I forgave him even his occasional lapses into
antisemitism; he posses a mythology of Cruel Jews & Harmless Palestinians,
perhaps inescapable given that Ralphy is Lebanese American, & I tried not
to focus too much on his lapses, just like I forgave Jackson his Hymie
Town remark.

But then Ralph robbed me personally, just plain stole my money, & I have
ever since thought of him primarily as a thieving scoundral.

On the Larry King show he was fundraising for his organization without
admitting what he was doing. For $5 each or $20 total, he explained
repeatedly, you could get four important consumer guides. I sent off my
money & what I got was four badly xeroxed sheets of paper with a few very
obvioius generic statements for consumers -- along with a request for more
money.

He remains on my shitlist until he returns the money he stole from me.

I agree with you, we have protected old growth, pristine forest in Northern
Idaho, what does Bush want to do, allow roads to be build through it.

For what? He says it is to allow fire fighters better access but what he
really wants to do is open the forests to logging.

I believe that we have to leave large areas of land undeveloped and unlogged
for the benefit of the wildlife and plantlife that live there. That is their
home and they need it (habitat) to exist.

Humans wouldn't want someone to destroy their only way to survive!

This entire area (the Northwest) is being destroyed by over development, we
have bears, moose, cougar, deer and many other creatures coming into the
cities because they have no where else to go. Sometimes they are captured
and released away from the city but usually they are just killed.

Bush believes that the bible "God" gave the Earth to the humans to do with
it as they please.

Now we know why politics and religion don't mix.
