Northern NY. Full sun lawn . The crabgrass problem eludes me.
Pre emergent Scotts with fert just didn't seem to help. If I spray the adult
stuff it looks like hell and kills adjacent grass. I would spray anyway if I
thought it would prevent next years crop. Anybody?

Pre-emergent crabgrass killer only works in the early spring before the
seed sprouts have broken the surface.

Crabgrass killer spray kills the existing plants. The idea is to do it
before the set their seeds for next year. Yes, the holes left are ugly
but I'm not sure what you think is going to replace the dead plants.
Crabgrass killer should not kill adjacent grass, but a broad spectrum
killer such as RoundUp certainly will.

Use one of the hundreds of test groups, this not being one.

It's obviously broke:

The above reads like a signature. Please put it behind a sig-delimeter. Or
does the POS:
X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 2.0/32.652

not have such an option?

A. It served it's purpose in the wrong place. What part about that, don't
you understand? There are groups in place *specifically* for testing your
newsreader.

B. The reader you've chosen, horribly borks posts and replies, as evident
by the non-compliant quote character you've chosen.

C. Your sig is also still borked. It needs to be behind the proper sig
delimeter "-- " (dash dash space), in order for other readers to strip it
out of replies and/or the original body.

D. You've chosen possibly the worst version of one of the worst
newsreaders, to use.

[borked sig snipped]

Please fix/upgrade/change your newsreader, and learn a bit about how the
USENET works, before making yourself look like a complete idiot. Thanks.

What is hard to understand is how one can be in such a sad state as
to want even reply to a one time "test" on a 4-5 month old dead
post...you can't be that bored can you

apparently the suspense is too much for you to handle, I had a melt
down on my usual reader so ran the quick test to see if it was the
reader itself or something that came about with the transfer from
comcast to RR

Idiot? Hmm you get your panties in a wad because on the fly I chose
to run a one time test on a dead topic and you have no control of
yourself but to jump up and start mocking my rarely used bork signing
newsreader and probably will feel an impulse to have to respond to
this post, wasting even more valuable "web space"

What if everyone did a "one time test" post to a dead thread? What do you
think the group would look like? Especially considering the fact that you
left the Subject line intact, leading noone to believe that your post
contained anything other than more information about the actual Subject
that you replied to. That's the reason that there are test groups, dipshit.

And, again, you would have got the same information from a post to a test
group. If it works there, it will work here.

If you know that the sig is borked, why not disable it? I guess if you're
going to **** up, go all out, huh? No different than your non-compliant
smilies as a quote character. Bet you think they're cute, don't you.

Every year, around this time, all the kiddies get their snow days from
school, and while mom and dad are at work, they do their best to try and
**** up the net. Guess you're the first of the lemmings, this year.
