Graham Fibbed!
'Fraid he did! Destroys all your trust in human nature, doesn't it? How I wish
I really did own that house full of lovely bigibbums - or even that I could grow my few bigibbums to half that standard. The true owner is Ross Harvey, standing immediately behind me wearing the hat. As well as being a member of our society, Ross is the owner of Cedarvale Orchids, where we were enjoying a bush house visit. As you can see, Ross grows beautiful bigibbums - it was his display at the Queensland Orchid Society Show that I posted a couple of weeks back. Ross also grows speciosums & kingianums that regularly take top prizes at shows, as well as a range of hybrids. Now, since his business was effectively hijacked, albeit short term, I think a plug in return is only fair: Ross's website is at http://www.cedarvaleorchids.com He freely admits his catalogues are out of date, but they are representative. His site also contains growing notes, telling how he does so well with both the bigibbum types and also the cool growing Dens. Ross does export to individuals - rather reluctantly because of the massive addition to price caused by the quarantine & paperwork requirements. For those of you who live in the US & may be interested, Ross sells in bulk there, through an agent. If you're interested, I'm sure an email to Ross would enable you to locate the agent, and hence find what retailers the agent sells to. My apologies for the deception - but the display was certainly worth posting.
