Default studies in algae on its secondary pigment production

Dear friends,
I found myself spell bounded on examining the works on
algal secondary pigment production that to especially beta-carotene in
a common marine alga Dunneliella salina.
I wonder whether these kind of works is done any other
algae. If any of you know the works done in other algae or the reasons
of why major works are done only in D.sp. please allow me to know that.

Thank you guys,

Bye.......
