Real Words
Just because some "word" is in some dictionary that doesn't mean it's a real
word. Then how do you define a real word? Dictionaries like Merriam-Webster and OED do not create words. They reflect the usage of the time. I believe I have heard people say, "In actuality." They mean actually, but there it is. They are speaking real words. I did a quick Web search and found several entries. You might find this amusing: Encyclopedia of Marxism: Glossary of Terms. Ac. Actuality. A philosophical concept concerned with the development of processes and conceptions. Iris, Central NY, Zone 5a, Sunset Zone 40 "If we see light at the end of the tunnel, It's the light of the oncoming train." Robert Lowell (1917-1977) |
