A 'friendlier' possibility may exist. Room for pond friendships and OT
natter.

I already have a "friendly" method: Talk about my and others' ponds, and
studiously and quietly avoid the trolls.

Works surprisingly well for me.

I haven't posted much, because it's been a down summer/fall*, so not much
happening in my interactions with the pond. Fortunately, it's big enough
that Nature can manage just fine without me, though the hardy water lilies
will need serious dividing as early in the spring as I can manage.

*Remodeling by the kitchen fire method. Effective, but NOT recommended!

Blessed Be,

That's a bit larger than 650 US gals isn't it? That's not a really small
pond! I keep a lot of GF or several koi in one that large. My largest is
only 2000 gallons. The neighbor across the road who got his fish and
plants from me has one 6000g - you should see the size they grew to!!!!!
:-O They're monsters!

My smallest ponds behind the house are 150g kiddy pools. They work great.

And that's a large part of the problem:

People just _have_ to respond to the trolls, more often than not quoting
them in toto for the benefit of those who might not have seen them.

My pond's frozen and the bass are just waiting for spring. Gotta replace
Walter the lonely koi, who passed on this last spring.

Now I'm going to get sentimental on you all right now....Gary one of the
things that I really loved about rec.ponds was reading your
narratives.....I kind of felt that I knew all about Walter and I also
got upset when I heard of his demise....your posts were very evocative
and indeed gave a true sense of how someone passionate about his hobby
really felt....they were understated at times but just really conveyed
the feeling and love that was felt.....I can still sit here and remember
reading your posts and closing my eyes and visualising that I was there
with you.....you are a great narrator and indeed in my eyes are what the
hobby (nay passion) is all about.....

So I thank you for what you gave me.....

Gill
