Herons look at koi as an easy lunch unless you act to protect them.
Herons are territorial so they will feed in the same spot over and
over. You can do serveral things to stop them. Using a decoy, spitter,
nets, electric wire and best of all a pond palace will stop them. A
decoy needs to move often and moving water is the best. A pond palace
is combines most of these tactics. The pond palace has a hard palstic
covering that has spawning mats, small openings for the smaller fish
and a large opening that even the largest koi can hide in. The top can
be used to hold potted plants. The super strong bubbles distrub the
water and makes it impossible for herons to see their prey. You can

Decoys don't work when you have 2 herons working a pond or several ponds.

Forget it. The heron stands there still as death until the fish come out of
hiding, then gets them.

What makes me think you're selling something? :-)) The surface of my pond
is also disturbed by the pump and settling tank returns and the herons see
their prey quite easily. The only thing that works with herons,
Kingfishers, large bullfrogs and snappers is a nice inexpensive net from ACE
or similar store.
