No, i dont raise algae, I help people that consider it a nuisance to
get rid of it without harming the plants or the fish. Yes, they pay me
to do this

Do you mean like how to raise algae? how to ensure it stays healthy? how to
grow it in any body of water? Shoot...I can do THAT no problem.

There are literally thousands, with new ones identified fairly regularly.

In the broad scope of things, algae consumes oxygen as it dies off.
Without seeing a picture, it could also be H2S gas escaping from the
bottom do to the degregation of the organic load on the bottom. H2S
gas releases air bubbles and also is responsible for degrading cement.

I work in brackish as well as fresh water.

Depends on if you are talking freshwater algae or sal****er algae.
And if you consider algae a plant or animal, there is some dispute.
Tricky stuff, eh?

Yes the site is a work in progress, I spend most of my time helping
people with algae. I chose to start on the larger areas first simply
because its easier to see the work I have done. Koi ponds and water
gardens are very easy to do, the larger arenas pose a bigger problem.
Stay tuned, I will have the site up totally as soon as I can devote
more time to it. In the meantime, the forum is up and ready, post
questions there, I do check it every day

I went to the site. A work in progress! Blank pages for water gardens and
just words for Koi. Decidedly increases my confidence in the resources
offered (nutrient for bacteria to attack algae...with monthly repeat
treatments needed.

I am NOT a spammer, if you were unable to see what can be done with
aquatics, I am sorry. I merely came here to offer the expertise I have
and share with others. If the knowledge here is so profound an no help
is needed, just let me know

John might I suggest you just join up the rec.ponds mom & pop shop.
Currently our product lines include muddy water by the barrel, minnows &
skeeter fish (minimum order 1000 fish), duckweed by the lb. and a myriad of
other products. I don't think we have an algae aisle yet.

I would like to volunteer for the caged predator aisle. If anyone is
interested in furry nocturnal omnivores.

Many of us here on rec.ponds know and use bacteria in our
ponds. We purchase it from a company called United Tech and
are very pleased with that product. Maybe you should check
out the competition's website and see what how you compare.

OUCH! The hostility of PW is countered by Bonnie's upper cut. Those

Algae is a plant (chlorophyll) and have a cell wall. dont need roots, stalks, stems,
etc. Ingrid

Plants have roots, stalks, leaves, etc, including a circulatory system.

Algae doesn't, it is just a single structure.
