From these posts I may have taken some poor advise and steps.
In an effort to save the remaining fish I ran out last night to a local
fish
retailer. He sold me $50
worth of stuff. Two containers of Aquarium salt each about the size of a
half gallon. Also a water conditioner
powder that was to help the ph. 5 containers of that, each was good for
250
gallons. I did as they told me and poured it
all in at one time. Some salt was on the pond bottom last night, but I
didn't notice this morning.
I'm hoping that I didn't worsen a bad situation. I'll return home in a
couple hours to see how things are.

The store found my ph a little high, but he said not too high.. They
thought
our coral rock waterfall and
back wall of the pond could cause that. He said plenty of Koi live like
that
here (Miami).

All that said. I have had my share of salt water tanks over the years.
When
ever I bought or caught
fish, I would give them freshwater dips and quarantine for a few days. My
Koi and Goldfish are tough as nails.
This is the first time we've had any problem.

If your pH was high but not too high, why did they sell you "a powder" for
your pH? I admit I am a pond newbie, but it worries me that you are dumping
all this stuff into your pond, and you don't even know what the problem is,
or if there even is one? Last year we had the "To Salt or Not to Salt"
battle, and IMHO this case is exactly why the "To Salt" school is a bit
dangerous. Here we have a ponder that added a few fish. One died, and he is
adding salt, and other powders in an attempt to solve what? This is akin to
sneezing and then getting your arm amputated to solve the problem, IMHO.

Oh and BTW bk, this is not a bash on you. Not in anyway. I am just fearing
that you are being steered in the wrong direction. I hope your pond fairs
well.

I agree that I was steered in the wrong direction. I spent a bunch of dough
and I don't know why. Also I have one Comet and a Fantail Goldfish in the
pond. After this treatment, they disappeared until yesterday. The fantail is
still just hanging out near the pump. Don't know if I'll be adding any more
fish to this pond..

Test your water parameters and make sure everything is within proper limits.
If you fear some sort of biological infection, I am sure there is a local
club or LFS that could help you test for it.
