Default Large Red sore on Koi

I have a large blue koi that has a big red sore near his tail, there is another
small
one under his eye. I have been using Medicarp medicated food and Melafix liquid
that I've put in so far for 5 days, they say do it for 7. You can also use it
longer if you have to.
The fish seems fine, it is eating and swimming around, anyone ever have
anything like this?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

You are probably doing everything that can be done for the koi with the
sore, short of injectables. To prevent the sores, in the future, I really
like a product named KoiZyme. It is a little pricy, but it has really kept
my fish from breaking with sores for the last 4 or 5 years.

treat for parasites first. start by checking water quality and add some salt 0.9lb
per 100 gallons.
melafix is not going to fix the problem.
