LOL - use T posts, but make it a "deer" fence (8'+)
plus! We just finished one & it's awesome. Keeps the deer out & is a GREAT arbor as well. We will cover it with evergreen vines & it will look great as well. We are running irrigation around the base today to insure rapid vegetation. Gene "Katra" wrote in message ... Would most people expect to share the cost of a common fence? The fence to be replaced is 30 years old with big holes in it. I am getting grief from the neighbor. The fence is on my property, but she doesn't think she should share any cost. I know I can't make her, but I would like to know if I am being reasonable. Diana Sledge Replace it with a wire fence. It's stronger, cheaper and longer lasting. 6' farm fencing and T-posts requires no digging either. ;-) Then just plant wild grapes and honeysuckle, and misc. other vines of your choice to cover it. It'll last forever. That's what I did and it's quite nice. Sounds awesome. :-)
Even tho' my fence is only 6' in the back, my dogs running loose inside the yard seem to discourage deer. I've never had a problem with them and there is a small herd here in the area. K. The grapes are deciduous but the honeysuckle keeps leaves all winter, just have not had good coverage with them, and it's taking forever for the trumpet vines to grow. Come to BrairCliff you will be assured unless you have 8' fence that the deer will come in, especially if you grow roses. Dogs won't keep them out as many dogs in BrairCliff run loose as there is NO leash law in that community. But the deer or multiplying 10 fold and have no fear of humans nor their dogs really. Gwen |

Carolina Jasmine for one stays green and with full leave all winter long and all summer. Gets fairly large fairly quickly when planted in the right location. Coral Honeysuckle seems to take forever to grow. Guess I need to transplant all that I rip out out back. G Coral Honeysuckle seems to take forever to grow. Yes, it does, but once it gets going, it's fabulous and attracts hummers! :-) K. Apparently they withstand drought and sun better then the coral honey suckle do. I wish I could recall the name of them. They have several at my Agility Club is S. Austin. Gwen |

BJ in Texas wrote: Had backstrap last nite.... really tastee and tender... :-) BJ I'm very jealous. I sure wish I had some deer in my freezer. Not only for me but for my dogs. The dogs would get the organs, if only I had some deer. Lucky you. Gwen |

Stab all over and stuff garlic slivers in the stabs, top with rosemary and thyme and cover the herbs with cabbage leaves to keep them moist while the roast cooks. ;-d K. -- Sprout the Mung Bean to reply... ,,Cat's Haven Hobby Farm,,Katraatcenturyteldotnet,, http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...user id=katra |
