Effectively, yes. The light levels in the UK are so low in midwinter
that photosynthesis effectively stops, irrespective of temperature.
By February, the very hardiest things are starting up, but December
and January are dead months.

Copper eh? So replacing the old bathroom lead plumbing with copper is not
such a smart move then?
