How do you turn fresh horse manure into something that can go on the
garden?
How long does it take? Thanks,

It might be nice if you took the time to thank some of the posters, who have
gone to the trouble of replying to your questions.

What's up? Why the grumpiness?
urg would be very tedious if we had to wade through post after post
which does nothing but say 'thank you'. I think it's taken as read that
everyone is grateful for the advice given. I certainly don't expect
thanks for anything I contribute.

No not at all. Just common courtesy, maybe it's different in this newsgroup,
but in most of the others, where you have a thread asking for help and get a
lot of replies, then usually a thanks for peoples effort is the closing
response. Especially if you ask more than one question.

As I said, maybe different in uk.rec.gar.

It's a busy group - you could easily get a dozen questions in a day,
which would mean a dozen posts saying nothing but 'thanks' - or five
times that number if posters thanked each respondent individually! I'd
far rather do without the thanks.

Give the OP a chance to draw breath tho', the original post was only on the
10th. Any number of things can get in the way of reading one's replies -
dodgy servers, family... a life!

See, my two pennies worth after 3 days ... A poster a couple of weeks
ago asked for some advice with pruning. I had given him advice on a
book he ought to get and he replied to me on an email. Sometimes,
people get back in touch and follow up on email rather than on urg.
