Hi All,

Can anyone give me some guidance as to when is the best time to prune an
acer ?

Mid/late summer is considered as a suitable time to prune as this gives the
tree time to produce a callus.
Pruning at other times is possible but they tend to bleed heavily and
dieback is more pronounced.
If you care to repost with the size and variety you may get a more specific
approach to your particular tree
