Default Blanket weed update

I need not have been concerned about the blanket weed. These last few
days has seen a moorhen reaching into (not getting its feet wet) the
pond and tugging out the blanket weed, often bigger than itself. It
looks most amusing, why it is doing so I do not know, unless it is
looking for food amongst it.
