Strawberries
Hi, I am very new to gardening and am almost entirely reliant on my gardener for the basics. However, today, I planted out some Calendula and strawberries into seed trays and covered them, ready for germination. The trouble is, I'm not sure whether I should leave them out in the greenhouse to germinate, or bring them in to the garage which gets a fair bit of light but where it is probably a fair bit warmer. The packets for both sets of seeds said that I should plant them indoors in February but I just don't know whether that means inside a greenhouse, or inside an unheated but protected garage. Can anybody help me? Thanks Howard |

I'm not sure about your garage lighting - it's far too artificial. I have covers for my seeds trays, and also use plastic bags on twigs to provide warmth and keep the moisture in. Do you have them covered too? |

Why not start them of indoors and when fully germinated, move them to the greenhouse, but you will need some heat until the nights get a bit warmer. I hope that helps. Judith at home |
