Default Miscanthus sinensis variegatus

Is there a slightly smaller variety of this?

We had an identical looking grass at our old house that grew up to around 3
feet / 1 metre high and seeing one in the garden centre today bought it, but
just noticed the label says "Miscanthus sinensis variegatus" and height 1.4
to 1.8 metres which is double the height of the one we had.

David.
